Dogs in Provincial Park Policy
A new policy is being considered for dogs in the provincial park. Currently, there are different opinions on whether dogs should be allowed to roam freely on hiking trails. One viewpoint is that dogs should always be leashed to ensure safety for all visitors and wildlife. The other viewpoint is that dogs should be allowed to run freely on the trails, giving them more exercise and freedom. Park officials want to hear public opinions before making a decision.

First, many people visit the park to relax and enjoy nature. Some visitors may be scared of dogs, especially if the dogs are big or loud. Keeping dogs on a leash will help everyone feel safe and calm.
Second, there are animals living in the park, like birds and squirrels. If dogs run free, they may chase or hurt these animals. A leash can stop this and protect the wildlife.
Also, some dogs do not always listen to their owners. Even friendly dogs can act wild if they get too excited. A leash gives the owner more control.
I like dogs and want them to enjoy the park too, but safety is more important. With leashes, everyone—people, pets, and animals—can enjoy the park together.
