Writing Task 2: Responding to Survey Questions
Time Limit: 25 minutesRead the following information.
Shared Pool Maintenance Costs
The apartment building management has noticed that the swimming pool is being used by a large number of residents, which has significantly increased maintenance costs. To address this issue, two options are being considered. One option is to have all tenants share the cost equally, which would result in higher rent for everyone. The other option is to charge only the tenants who use the pool. The management is seeking feedback from residents before making a decision.
Choose the option that you prefer. Why do you prefer your choice? Explain the reasons for your choice. Write about 150-200 words.

Option B: I think only tenants who use the pool should pay for it.
Response:
I think only tenants who use the pool should pay for it.
Not everyone in the building uses the swimming pool. Some people are too busy, don’t like swimming, or have health issues. It would not be fair to raise the rent for everyone, including those who never use the pool.
By charging only the users, the management can cover the extra maintenance costs without upsetting other residents. This way, people who enjoy the pool can continue to use it, and others won’t feel they are paying for something they don’t use.
Also, this method might encourage more responsible use of the pool. If people are paying for it, they will likely take better care of the area.
In my opinion, this is a fair and smart way to manage the extra costs. Everyone should pay only for the services they use.
