One option is to screen a family-friendly movie suitable for children, which would start earlier in the evening. The other option is to show an award-winning film aimed at adults, which would be scheduled later at night. The organizers want to gather opinions to finalize the plan.

This option is better for families with children. Kids usually go to bed early, so an early movie makes it easier for parents to bring them. It gives everyone a chance to enjoy the event together.
Family movies also create a happy and friendly environment. They bring people of all ages together. Watching a fun movie outside on a summer evening is a great way to relax and connect with neighbors.
Award-winning films are nice, but they often have serious topics that may not be fun for everyone. A light, family movie is more enjoyable for a large group.
Also, early movies are safer. People can walk home before it gets too dark, especially kids and seniors.
For these reasons, I think a family-friendly movie in the early evening is the best choice for the whole community.
